4. The NHS is going bankrupt, UHC in Mass. is way over budget and UHC plans in WI and CT were scrapped because the cost dwarfed the state budget. 5. The US performs many more organ transplants and has a better survival rate than the UK. He also didn't know how many mandates there were in the 60s (which increase costs dramatically) compared to today. Check the archives, he kept recycling the same failed arguments over and over. freewebs..com/professor_enigma/universalhealthcare..htm

Just as a refersher for everyone I'll post the several items Yongy couldn't answer, keep in in mind his lack of intestinal fortitude to have his comments posted on a website for all to see. He's an internet hack. 1. 47 million "Americans without health care" (false) 2. Canadian tax increases to fund univ. health care yet waiting times continue to increase. 3. Canada ranks very low in doctors per thousand people.

For you, I'll make it easy. Just defend this one thing you are refusing to touch: Our private health care system (which you are so enamored with) charges Americans more per person and yet provide less overall coverage; how do you defend it as being a better system than the universal health care in other industrialized nations where their systems cost less per person and covers everyone? Just answer that in a straight forward manner, if you can.

Ah, of course, the big boogie man-"TAX". All of us would want something for nothing. But of course, neither of us are naive enough to think that is possible, so, I hope we can at least agree that if we want the service, we have to be willing to pay for it. Our System: We pay more than everyone else, but we get less, and not everyone is covered, And corp. make a handsome profit. Universal System: Everyone pays, everyone is covered, and on a per person basis, your cost is less.

Her'es my final salvo little man, go to freewebs..com/professor_enigma/univershalhealthcare..htm and let's see you defend these UHC proposals that Obama et al have made. You're still avoiding the fact that these are going to literally break the budget. Good luck, you will need it. My e-mail is at the top of the page.

You curiously have avoided several items I've been bringing up related to UHC. You get an idea on the increase of mandates since the 60s or are you going to continue to pull information out of your nether regions?

Here's a quick analogy with your selective comparison: The fact that Grandpa Willy's coffee house where grandpa Willy puts in a seat warmer for every one of his customers during the Winter season, does not validate or prove that grandpa Willy has a more efficient and better quality coffee house than Starbuck's which does not provide seat warmers for each customers during the Winter season.

"you are unable to refute the FACT that Americans pay more per person" If you don't read what I say in response then you might think you're making sense. You have a few questions to answer, I'll wait until you actually answer them. Going to take the challenge or not? I'd love to get your silly arguments up in print. Go ahead and make up an e-mail address at yahoo and then you can delete if after everyone sees how silly your arguments are.
yongy2000 (July 21st, 2008 @ 10:45 pm)
First, I see you are unable to refute the FACT that Americans pay more per person and don't even get 100%. This FACT alone negates any ridiculous argument you have about how great our private health care system has been. I will indulge you yet again, even though you've decided to dodge the uncomfortable fact and move onto yet another ridiculous and weak side argument: your selective comparison as oppose to a comprehensive comparison of systems is inherently flawed and dishonest.See next post

Tell me Yongy, how many health care mandates were there back in the 60s? How many in the 90s and how many today? I'll bet you have no idea what the answer is and your angry response will prove it. In addition, any idea how much income taxes et al. have increased to fund "free" health care in Canada and how poor the performance is? Any idea how many Canadian women come here to give birth? I think if you knew the answers to a few of these questions you might not look so foolish. But I digress.

"Can you deny the fact that Americans pay more per person" That's answered in my article too, but I'll bet you'll stick to the message board and run off later. Mandates (which have massively increased over the past few decades) and less individual control of health care dollars are the primary reason for cost increases. In addition, we do have more doctors and better technology than most nations. So I can't deny your fact, but since you've done no research you had no idea WHY it was high.
